Conference on the Middle Helladic period
The first conference, entitled “MESOHELLADIKA: The Greek mainland in the Middle Bronze Age”, was organized by the French School at Athens, with the collaboration of the American School of Classical Studies and the Netherlands Institute at Athens. It was held in Athens on 8-12 March 2006.
The Organizing Committee consisted of Anna Philippa-Touchais (French School, Athens), Gilles Touchais (University of Paris, Sorbonne), Sofia Voutsaki (Groningen Institute of Archaeology) and James Wright (Bryn Mawr). This was the first conference dedicated exclusively to the MH period in the mainland. The aim of the conference was to bring together archaeologists working on the MH mainland and to provide a forum to discuss the changes taking place during the MH period. The Conference Proceedings will be published as a Supplement of the Bulletin of Correspondance Hellenique.
